Hi, I’m Atılay Berber.
I work in IT in the retail industry. Data sits at the center of what I do: pulling it together from different sources, cleaning and modeling it, and turning it into reports people can actually make decisions with. I also build internal software along the way.
What I work on
- SQL Server and T-SQL: database design, query and index tuning, stored procedures
- Power BI and DAX: star schema models, time intelligence, management dashboards
- ETL and data warehousing: data flows with SSIS, analytical models with SSAS
- Python: web scraping for price and market data, data cleaning and automation
- External data sources: combining official statistics (such as TÜİK, Turkey’s statistics office) with company data for industry comparisons
What you’ll find here
I write about problems I run into on the job and how I solved them, step by step and with code that actually runs. I try to answer not just “how do I do this?” but also “why is it done this way?”. Most posts are about SQL Server, Power BI and DAX, data modeling, and collecting data with Python. I write in Turkish and English.
